Found water in the fuel filter bowl When trying to purge the system I get a few bubbles and a little fuel start once on a while wont run. Thought about raising the inlet fuel pressure to help purge

You shouldn't need to use increased pressure to bleed a fuel system. Remove the filter / water separator bowl and empty the water. Reinstall the bowl and open the fuel valve. Follow the procedure in the operator's manual for bleeding.
In machines with a 12 volt lift pump, usually all that is required is to open a bleeder screw near the injector, and turn the key to the run position (not cranking the engine). The small electric lift pump will purge the system in 60 seconds or so (varies, but wait for solid fuel from the bleeder). I suspect your Mahindra has an electric lift pump.
Other machines (generally older) have a mechanical lift pump, which may or may not have a manual pumping lever to purge the system. Some you just have to crank the engine to purge.

My past 3 tractors and current diesel zero turns have 12v lift pumps that purged with the key on method in about a minute or so.
Hope this helps, good luck.
On edit...
Find out how water is getting into your fuel and fix that. I use a water blocking filter on my storage tank. I have also used water blocking funnel type filters (Mr. Funnel) to filter fuel from 5g containers. Water in a diesel machine is bad news.
