I'm in Florida and maybe will the owner of new grand l6060 so I'm concerned that antifreeze won't do much for rust on rims. From experience of using empty oil drums filled with water the sloshing oil left in the drums floating on the water kept them from rusting would that work in tires?

Use "beet juice" to add rim/wheel weight

beet juice not readly available and pretty costly and I don't see how all that dissolved sugar prevents rust, maybe some chemist can chime in because I worked at beet canning factory as a kid and that stuff was acidic, metal splashed and left outside rusted.

I did some more reading and it is desugared beet juice.

Oil in tires - extremely bad. Hydrocarbons degrade rubber.There is very little free oxygen in an inflated tire. If the rim is not protected by paint, it will form a light rust film and stop once the free oxygen combines with iron to form FeO2. For your area windshield washer fluid makes a good tire fill unless you need the added density.

what is in windshield fluid to prevent rust? that mainly for freezing. I've seen rims rusted through that had water in them for years, so how did they find enough oxygen do that

Great tractor. Experienced owners of L6060 open station models recommend wheel weights and loaded rear tires to get 62-horsepower to the ground effectively on this 4,500 pound bare weight tractor.

Do you need 62-horsepower?

I have the smallest Grand L, an L3560. I have air in my rear tires and am happy. But my power to weight ratio is low (37/3,700), relative to an L6060 (62/4,500).

A little silly to be considering a $40,000 to $50,000 tractor and be worrying about potential tire ballast cost. Foam and Rim Guard are the two densest, heaviest tire ballasts. Weight is what you need.

Your cost to run an L6060, tractor only, assuming you use Kubota parts but contribute your labor, will be $25/hour minimum.

Multiple implement depreciation and dealer service increase hourly cost rapidly.

I read the two links and Kubota recommends water but I've seen hard well water rust rims and I've seen tubed tires rust rims badly such that they had to be replaced. So you say use beet juice likely cost $400 dollars and very hard to find in florids why not try find something in the $30/50 range that safe and will actually prevent rust. Talk with my son who does blasting and here is another product.
