The owners manual shows a drain plug in the bottom of the clutch housing, for draining water after operating tractor in the rain or washing. These tractors sit on the dealers lots for weeks sometimes, before being sold. This spring has been very wet, to say the least. Has anyone ever checked that drain plug ? Did you get any water from it ? Thanks !

I did check the one on my B2710 at least a couple of times; no water ever found.

Does anyone have a picture of exactly where this bolt is? I have a B2410 w/ a FEL. I was looking today and think I may have found the bolt but am unsure. The bolt that I think it may be was brighter? (not the dull gray) color and was 12 mm. If anyone has a picture, please post it. I will try to post a picture of the bolt that I am talking about too.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve-
Here's a scan from the operator's manual for my B7800.

The scan said it all. " Cut and dry." No Pun intended..

herringchoker,

Thanks for the scanned image. My operators manual has the same photo. My problem was, it didn't seem to obvious to me when I was laying on the ground looking around for the drain bolt as to which one it was. Like I mentioned previously, I saw one bolt that looked different from the others, almost as to say "Hey look at me you idiot!!". :)

Thank you,

Steve

For what it's worth, I took the bolt out that I saw looked different but nothing came out (more importantly, nothing fell apart).

On some tractors, like my L4400, there is a little button you push in to see if there is water inside. Its a nice feature but the little button/pin looks very delicate. I'm surprised I haven't scrubbed it off on something.
