I had to add water twice in three weeks, got looking for leak and found
what appears to be a coolant seep from left side of block,1 to 2 inches
below freeze plugs. Kind of hid behind starter. I'm thinking this is pretty
serious. Any idea's?

Typical location for a crack in the block. There's only one sure fix, and that's a weld.

I would make absolutely sure it's not a freeze plug.

Like Norm said, be sure it's not the freeze plug. Since the leak is so close to one I would double and tripple check it before I condem the block. The first thing I would do is add a couple drops of some very bright food coloring dye to the coolant. Run the engine until hot and let it cool down. Remove the starter and inspect for the leak. It should be much easier to see exactly where the leak is coming from with the dye in the coolant. Ideally you would use a UV dye and a UV light but the food coloring works great in a pinch just like candle wax dye works great in oil.
