According to the Texas rainfall calculator, the amount of roofing I have will average 41,100 gallons per year.
That's a big bucket. A trencher for the day and 350$ or so in piping?
I think it's worth it.
How big is your pond that you will be piping the water to? One acre-inch is 28,000 gallons of water and on a hot day you can lose 9000 gallons per acre to evaporation so it's hard for me to imagine how you can make a dent in it with 41,000 gallons per year. Runoff from one good rainstorm will dwarf what the pipe can carry in a year.
