Water supply from well to the house

[QUOTEI was trying to picture myself installing pipe after reading some of the posts. I could hold the pipe in one hand, the torch in the other, the clamp in the other one and the screwdriver in the other one.

that's a good point, but it's really not a problem. one thing i forgot to mention though is a water jug with soapy water in it, though i think that may have been mentioned earlier. it's not really needed for the lighter weights, but the 200# stuff can be a challenge without it.

i put my clamps, fittings, pipe cutting pliers, 1/4 drive ratchet in a 6x8x4" deep cardboard box and carried the propane torch and water jug with other hand. i was never far from the tractor anyway and i just stored the stuff on it. btw, i would never use a screwdriver on those clamps. come to think of it, a torque adjustable electric nut driver might be even handier than a ratchet, and more consistent.

i can see where there comes a point that pipe diameter dictates that shorter sections need to be used, but i think the small acreage application that my property represented was served best by the flex pipe. i did the whole job by myself and, aside from running computer cable from the well house to the home next time around(i think that sutff is good for about 1700' runs), i think i would do the same thing again.

I tape the two cans together with duct tape (cleaner and glue) and carry that in one hand. I can put the PVC cutters in my pocket. That's it - unless I need the saws all, but then I still have a free hand.

...200 psi black polyethylene water pipe... 1" and 1-1/4" are common sizes for water lines around here...
That is one point that can be critical. Not all products are available everywhere. So, the OP will have to pick from what is available in Alabama.
