Is it actually 150' of vertical lift that you need to overcome? Or 150' at a 45 degree angle?

I am setting up an old Aermotor myself and have some experience with them, knowing the actual lift is what will matter, distance can be overcome despite friction loss.

Here is some info for Aermotor windmills for those of you interested.

The angle doesn't matter, it's just the overall lift as far as pressure is concerned. 1 pound of pressure will raise water 2.3 feet

A ram pump will not help you because it needs fall and a continuous flow to work. Plus it only raises a small percentage of the driving water to the final height.

Without using an electric pump or having a reservoir of some sort, it seems like the best thing would be to seal the outlet of the well head and extend it on up with pipe to the upper tank.

A cheap gas driven pump might be the most practical. Just run it and pump from a lower tank. You could always just put in enough gas to do the trick and leave it to run till it stops.

Or hook up the up and down action of the windwill rod to operate another hand pump with a lever or something. This second pump would take it the last step with a 66 psi push through a piston pump.
