I had one and a half inches in my rain gauge this morning.

This is a good thing.

My rain gauge had barely over one inch; but that was great!

Only 3/4 of an inch here in Tyler. Now that the dust is settled, I can do some mowing!!!

After a summer of areas to the north and south of us getting light rain and we getting nothing last night we got 2.5 inches. This is great, even the grass looks green this morning. I might actually end up mowing more than once this year.

And we got enough to count here in Arkansas. I was on the tractor pushing over dead trees -- killed by the drought of the last couple of years, I'm sure -- when the rain started falling. I put a "rode hard, put up wet" tractor in the barn.

Only .85" (of welcomed rain) in my gauge this morning. Half-way between home and work, in the Swiss Alp area, 9.5"!!

We got nearly two inches here in Mid-Missery. It was coming down pretty hard Sunday morning, and my gutters were full of locust leaves and pine needles, so I had waterfalls all around the house. The rain was warm, and I was figuring I'd get water in the basement if I didn't do something, so I pulled on some swimming trunks, got my old booney hat, and climbed up on the roof to clear the drains. Some fun! I'd pull out a plug of junk and the water would just rush down the drain. Of course, the lightening was a bit intimidating, what with me up on the roof and all, but the rain felt almost like a warm shower. Now, this morning my back felt like someone whacked me with a 2x4. The wife denies doing it, so I imagine the contortions I went to to get between the ladder and the roof, and back, might explain the pain. However, I'm still glad we got the rain. Some new apple trees I planted back in the spring were getting peaked.

We got 1/2" of slow rain. Even at the heaviest downpour, there was no runoff. The ground was drinkin' so fast you could hear it swallow.

I was at my daughter's house in Hurst for awhile yesterday afternoon and it was raining so hard I couldn't see past the hood ornament. I'm sure she got over 2" and most of it came down in about ten minutes. We only had 20' to go from the truck to her garage, but we would have been soaked if we hadn't waited for the downpour to subside.:)
