Very interesting story, Don. Of course I'm sorry the Lee County Peanut Company is gone. The Sells that had it years ago were very likable people. And I'm sorry we've never eaten at the City Meat Market. But he's right about pulled pork.:laughing: It's pretty good, but certainly not Texas BBQ.:laughing:

I enjoyed the article very much. I haven't been through Giddings in forever. Back in the late 50's and early 60's when I was in graduate school at UT and later working at a research lab in Austin, we drove through Giddings at least once a month and I do remember good barbeque. Both sets of our parents were in Houston.

That continued until the Air Force lab we both worked at closed and I found a job at NASA in Houston.

That is a pretty part of Texas.
