Last month, I disassembled my bucket loader and redid the seals in the two cylinders that lift the bucket. I attempted to disassemble the bucket cylinders that tilt the bucket but the snap ring was too tight and rusted to remove. So after about 2 weeks(it took awhile to get the parts), I assembled everything. Now the bucket is having trouble tilting and it whines while lifting dirt. Could the seals have dried up after two weeks? Or does that mean my hydraulic pump is going out? It痴 a Yanmar Tractor.

Sounds like air in the system. Like when one replaces a power steering pump on a car. The lines should have cleared by now, however. Are your other hydraulics working okay - power steering, HST (if you have it), TPH? If you are getting similar results then I would try cycling the hydraulic levers to see if the air could be cleared. If it continues, may be a bad pump?

The seals should not dry out in a couple of weeks and if they were the problem, you might be seeing cylinder weep.

Make certain quick couplers are in the correct place as connecting a lift arm or bucket cylinder quick connect to the wrong port can do this

If there are quick couplings on the hoses to your FEL first try re-seating them. With the tractor off, move the control levers around to bleed off any pressure then reconnect them.

If there is still a problem, swap the location of the bucket quick connects to the lift arms and see if the problem moves.

Post some photos of your FEL valve and overall tractor.

Good point.

Pour function and whining could be an indication of a hydraulic restriction somewhere and the system is going into bypass mode.

Dave's suggestions may track it down, if this is the case.
