Finally got got the new 1758 in the field hooked to a 6 ft digger. Had in medium hydro range and hydro would slip before loading engine. Dropped to low range and hydro would hold but speed is limed to 3.5 MPH. This is a 59 HP Tractor and can't pull a 6 ft. digger faster than 3.5 MPH? Had a LS R4047, 47 HP and it would pull digger 5 MPH. Also can't use loader in Medium range hydro. Hydro slips before you can load engine to dig into pile. Then have to switch hydro to low range. Hydro in Medium range will not even slip tires in 2 wheel drive at the lowest engagement of the hydro in Med. range. The hydro max. speed in med. range is 8 MPH. Sure would think hydro should be strong enough to load engine before slipping. Any other owners of 1758,1752 experience issues with MF hydro's. This thing may be going done the road. Don't need a 59 HP tractor that you can not use its power at more than 3.5 MPH

dallen1580 - check my threads on my MF1754 hst. I won't go into the details here. But, you can see what I've gone thru. Check your hydo fluid levels, if you haven't already. Mine was 1 1/2 gallons overfilled. I lost reverse on mine when the the fluid warmed up. Drained the fluid down to correct level and it improved quite a bit. Changed and cleaned the filters and that solved most of the problems. As a note, my MF1754 has plenty of power. An amazing amount of power! Obviously, something is wrong! I can easily slip rear tires in med range in 2 wheel. I feel your frustration. Mine would barely move when the hydro fluid was overfilled once the fluid came to operating temperature. Does your tractor go faster in forward than reverse? I've been ready to send this tractor down the road several times in the last 8 months.

What is your response and max speed control set at? I have a 1736 and my kids had turned them all the way down and I was having issues with the hydro.

Response is turned to max. Had to dealer and they dynoed engine and checked Hydro release pressures, Said every thing is in spec. I guess I got a 59 HP tractor that can not pull/push any heavy load unless your in low range with max speed of 3.5 MPH. Would not recommend to anyone to buy the MF 1700 series tractors with a Hydro.

Does the previous MF 1600 Series have the same Hydro as the current 1700 series?

change to the chevron synthetic thf. fixes all kind of problems. I have several in depth postings on it.
