Last year I built a gazebo at my pond to get married in. I made it as nice as I could possibly could, and when it was done, we thought others might like to get married there too. We are a long ways from being able to offer it to others, but for friends and family, we will do what we can to make it happen.
Michael lives on the land next to mine and his fiance loves coming to our pond with him to go fishing and just hang out, so when they decided to get married, they asked us if they could do it at the gazebo. Last month we received over 9 inches of rain. This month is looking like it might it's looking like we might get even more. Rain every day this week, and then a big storm hit last night. It is very difficult to walk through wet clay, and only a couple of 4x4 trucks can make it through it. If more try, it just gets to be a nightmare.
The plan was for me to pick everyone up on my neighbors land with the tractor and haul them over in the trailer with hay bales for seats. It took 4 trips each way to get everyone there, plus there where 4 UTV's going back and forth along with the pastor who drove his truck through the mess and then the brides brother who almost didn't make it.
For our first try at this, we are very pleased. We learned that we have to get the road there and a parking area done before we can even think of doing anything commercially. The mud is just to much!!!! We also liked how they came up with their ideas on layout and decorating. Neither of us had thought of doing what they did, and we're pleased that the gazebo was big enough to handle both families inside it during the ceremony.
