Mahindra 4500 4x4
After damaging the thin sheet metal tool box that came with the tractor, I decided to build a tool box that is a wider and taller than the original one. I had some extra 1/8" Diamond Plate. It's a good thing it's mounted to the tractor, because I would not want to carry this thing around.

What do you all think?

Sure looks rock solid though not being familiar with the 4500, I'm not sure exactly how it looks overall with the tractor in term of proportion etc. Does it also work as a step?

The tool box is located on the Right side of the tractor. The original toolbox was only 4 1/2" wide. and 15" long. I doubled the width and height. As far as a step since it's on the Right side, the FEL controls would be in the way.

Yes, of course. I see that now.

Chet, have you mounted hooks on the bucket of your 4500 yet? I used a piece of 2X3X3/8" angle iron. I welded the hooks to the angle iron, then welded the angel iron to the bucket. Once I paint it I will send in some pictures of this project as well.

I put three on it, one in the middle and one on each end. I did not reinforce anything, just welded them right to the top of the bucket. Have not bent anything yet, and I have lifted the front end of a 78 Chev one-ton with 454 motor off the ground from the center one. However, I would reccomend a reinforcement such as yours for regular heavy lifting. Mostly I use the outside hooks to wrap a chain around a round bale to move them......Chet
