I have a TC35DA with a FEL. I was wondering what these things weigh, approximately. I wanted to know if I ever wanted to haul it on a trailer. Anybody got any idea?

Thanks!!!

The tractor is about 3000 lb and the loader with standard bucket is about 1100 lb, so you are looking at 4100 lb. I'd imagine if your rear tires are loaded, you will be closer to 5000 lb as a round figure.

Thanks Jinman. I was looking at a 18' car hauler with 2 3500 lb axles. My tires are indeed loaded. I think as long as I don't have too much else on the tractor such as a mower, I'll be all right.

Once again, thanks for the input.

I think you will not be happy with that 7k lb trailer. I have one and that's what I hauled my TC45D on until I loaded the rear tires. Now, I won't haul it because I'm way over the load weight shown on the data plate on the trailer. Remember, you have to also find good tires that won't shred themselves under that load and normally the tires that come on these 7k lb trailers are not all that good even when new. If you can possibly afford a 10k trailer with wheel brakes, I think you will be much happier in the long run and much more secure when hauling. As a minimum, please get brakes on both axles of that 7k lb trailer. Stopping mine and watching it flex was what scared me most with the lighter trailer.

Hey Jinman,

I actually own a 20' car hauler with 2-7500lb axles, dual wheel brakes. However, it is heavy as lead. My poor F150 with a 4.6 cried when I hooked the trailer up empty. I have a equalizer on it but it sure is big. I actually co-own it with a friend and we just bought it right. My friend has a very small orange tractor and the small car hauler would be great for that. I usually wouldn't be hauling the tractor around except to the dealer for service. I also wanted to haul my jeep and the big trailer would be over-kill. I know, I know, I could use an F250 but at $5/gal I'm a little leary about that right now.

As always, I really appreciate your input from up in Wise County. I'm a Tarrant County resident myself and my tractor resides in Blanco County in the hill country.

Thanks!

James

I understand James. You have to work with what you have. If I needed to haul my tractor the 20 miles to Decatur to the dealer, most likely I would pull the loader and any implement so I could haul it bare. I could do that on my trailer and so could you on your car hauler. Getting a tractor to the dealer for service is very different than hauling a tractor and implements to a jobsite.:)

Hey Jim,

Yeah, I really don't use my tractor except recreationally on our place. I wouldn't be hauling it to make a living. I would probably starve. We bought this trailer for a really good price. We have about $2600 in it and it has a steel deck and brand new tires. We also had a new equalizer hitch put on it. It was used by the po to haul wood on. It is one heavy duty trailer. That's the down-side.

I have been wanting a bigger truck and the prices are getting right but I wouldn't be using it that often for it's intended purpose. What a quandry. I really don't need a 3/4 ton truck to haul a 17lb bicycle around most of the time.

Thanks for all your input

James
