I wanted to know how much my L4330 weighed so I drove it to the scales at our local Farm Bureau Co-Op. Boy was I surprised at how heavy it is. 7,400 lbs! It has a cab, LA853 loader, standard 6' bucket with toothbar, 6' Woods box scraper, tires loaded with Rim-guard, & wheel weights. It must add up pretty quick. It's just about the same feeling that I get when I step on the scales.

Back in Physics class, they taught us... Force = Mass x Acceleration. Mass is a key component of developing pushing/lifting forces. Looks like you've got it.

I wonder how much it would weigh with a BH-90 too. I estimated 7,500 lbs with FEL, BH, and no water in tires...

Hi...

I think the BH90 is ~1,900 pounds all by itself...

Gene,
Did you happen to compare the weight from the scale to the weights listed by Kubota for your tractor and implements? I know the Rim guard would be a bit of a guess but was hoping that you were given an estimated weight when installed. The reason I ask is there has been an on going question about how Kubota lists their tractor weights in their specification charts. For a long time it was rumored that Kubota listed the shipping weight of the tractor with out fluids, tires and wheels. Years ago this was thought to be confirmed by Kubota when asked by someone on the forum. More recently someone had it confirmed that the specification weights represented field ready with fluids, tires and wheels. Just curiosity on my part.

I remember reading that at some point kubota changed from listing the shipping pallet weight to actual tractor. The current weights listed are actual weight.

I was told the other day, the BH-90 alone is 2000 lbs. The new subframe adds several hundred more pounds, plus the weight of the bucket. I think the dealer said at least 2500 lbs for a fully installed BH-90.

Of course I guess you get to subtract a few pounds for the 3PH hardware that comes off.... Either way, the BH-90 adds a lot of weight to the rear.

I think the dealer said about 1400-1500 pounds for the Rim Guard. 700-750 a wheel.

Even with that BH-90 weight and loaded tires, when I was moving a bunch of dirt/clay with the L3830 FEL the other day, I still felt a little front heavy.

I'm not sure how much it is supposed to weigh according to Kubota. Because I have a tooth bar, rim guard in the tires and a Wood box scraper on. I was guessing about 6,500. Boy was I wrong. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
