Today I finished welding my weight box that fits on the 2 inch receiver on the back of the 422. I wanted to use up the short piece of 2inch receiver tube, so I welded a flat plate on the bottom to support the back of the box. This also means the back of the box is higher and less likely to catch on stuff as I drive through the swamp.

The box is about 18 X 6 X 6 inches. Please make any comments about improvements before I paint it.

One picture shows it with two 55 lb Kubotoa weights.

Nice job there Bob, your really going to town in the attachment dept. I am finishing up around here finally my deck is all done. I noticed my PT doing a lot of clicking this morn, pulled it in the garge and checked it out. The brake cable was frayed, and the little screw in bolt was stripped so the cable was slowly slipping and engaging the brake.

I took the front wheels off for the first time, pushed the spring loaded pins in against the hubs, took the little cable holder off turned it around. The other side still had a good thread so switched sides, adjusted and tightened it back down. Now she is good. Going to start checking everything out for the fall winter. Next weekend going to change out the hydraulic filter. Not to take away from your topic, just reminded me I can now get back to my hitch / ripper attachments. Wish I had a welder. I may have to just get creative, and ad lib it a little. In any case, good job on yours, keep the pic's coming.

I keep making attachments even if I don't need them. Some of them might even be useful.

I am glad you were able to fix your brake cable so easily. I think your comments deserve their own thread. I bet this occurs farly often and others need to know. They might have trouble finding it here. Get some pictures if you can. I have had the clicking noise as well. No problem now that I know the cause.

Hmmmm your right, guess I should have taken some pictures. Just figured it was a simple fix, and maybe not all that common. I should have taken pictures when it I had it all apart. Little late now.

Not to impressed with the setup. I would think at least they could have made a cable with a small loop fitting on the end, so it would have to break to engage the brakes. The way it's setup bolt digs into the cable and splits it down the middle, once adjusted and tightened, the cable is pretty damaged making any readjustment harder. In any case don't want to highjack your thread. Maybe I'll make this a separate topic a little later on, for any newbies out there.

I am not concerned about high jacking thread.

On the parking brake, my biggest problem is disengaging it, with the second problem getting the lever adjusted so that it does not self engage and it can be manually engaged. I have though about this a little. I would like a spring in each cable so the lever can be moved and then the pins can disengage separately as they are released by turning the wheel. Right now you have to get both pins loose simultaneously. Gee, that sounds good. Then I want a lever that locks the brake handle off. I only use my brakes when trailering because of the difficult to disengage problem. Don't reply, start a new thread on this subject.

I added a plate to the back of the weight box which allows a me to put an attachment on, not for use, but just for transport. I drove around with the stump grinder today and it fell off. I need to develop some kind of latch to prevent this. It works find on smooth pavement or even rough ground, but I was working with the wire plow on the front.
You cannot put an attachment that you cannot lift by hand, but the stump grinder and 2 inch receiver are pretty easy to load.
I have attached a few pictures.
