Rear Finish Mower weight limits

i have a bx2230. i have a bush hog kk 48". wanted to up grade to a 60" rear finish mower? problem is weight. the 60"rearfm is 660 # . the manual says max is 375. but the 48" bush hog is 400# and the 48" tiller is 525#. both work well . could the 60" rear finish mower be used safly with out damage to the tractor? fields are flat and implement would not have to be raised off ground very much for tranport.

I don't know about the weight, but I don't think it will matter. I think that you would be grossly under-powered for a 5' mower.

I have a JD 332 diesel lawn tractor that is 14 HP and pulls a 55" mower perfectly well. Your tractor likely wont pull a 5" bushhog but should not have a problemw with the finish mower if you keep the blades sharp. You may have to slow down a bit on tough/high grass. The stated weight of a 60" finish mower seems a bit high but maybe it is heavy duty deck or something.
I would check it out with the dealer and make a deal that if the tractor wont lift it, he would take it back. If it lifts it without problems, then you should be OK to use it if you take it slow over rough areas and down snap it up and down and overstress the lift arms. You may need some additional ballast on the front.

As long as you can lift it to transport there shouldn't be a problem. You will need to ensure you keep the RPMs up. Gear down the ground speed to make sure the RPMs stay up. I'm using a 7ft finishing mower with a JD870 which is too small and the only issue I have is on a couple of slopes. I have to stand on the uphill brake sometimes to keep the mower from pulling me downhill.
