I get this same thought when I see an aircraft carrier on TV. It is SO tall, and so WIDE on the top. It looks like in a little wind it should flop right over on its side.

If I remember my History Channel lessons correctly, floating concrete piers were used to support the troops during the Normandy invasion.

How many tons does a United States CVN class aircraft carrier displace/weigh?

The Mir space lab weighs around 150 tons and it flys in space. It flys around 17,500 miles per hour. And on 3/20/01 its going to burn. :-(
