Weight of grass clippings/mulched leaves

Hi all,

Been thinking about building a cart sort of like the Cyclone Rake, and in the process got to wondering about weight. Does anyone know how much a cubic foot of grass clippings or mulched up leaves weigh? While researching baggers for mowers, they're measured in gallons. Don't know what that means; liquid, volume, weight, cubic inches, what?

Way too many variables to say that a cu. ft of leaves weighs xx.x pounds. Depends on how wet they are, how mulched they are, how compressed they are...... rough guess? I'm thinking 1 cu. ft of wet chopped up leaves not compressed weighs less than 10 pounds.
