My rear tires are filled with water, when I cut pasture there are always rows of grass left laid down/uncut, even on low height setting. Does having weighted tires cause this more than just air in tires?

Are you driving over the grass before cutting it with a bush hog , or is this a MMM?

If bush hog style where you are driving over the grass and depending on the size / weight added by the water, yes this could make a difference. Height of grass, type of grass, speed of travel, etc. will make a difference in how quick the grass springs back after being driven on.

yes, driving over first then cutting with flail, either L 1 or 2 speed.

you may be going too fast for the suction of the mower to pick it up. flails have small profile.. less time for the grass to stand vs a rotary cutter.

about the only thing you can do is go slower.. OR unlaod tires. or get wider profile tires ( less ground pressure.. ) or mow at a different grass height

My mowers have all been 3 blade finish mowers. Blades of slightly different geometry are made for at least standard and high lift for them. I'd assume even if they made different blades for a flail that replacing them would be expensive and time consuming.

With an RFM all 4 tractor and the front 2 mower wheels roll the grass down before the blades get a shot at it. I notice a difference in how the grass springs back up as the seasons and weather change. Sometimes it pops up like the teeth on those "wrong way treadles" found at the exits of private parking lots. Other times it seems I should load the 3-point sprayer with Viagra solution. Seems like early Spring and late Fall are when the grass has more of a tendency to misbehave.

Speed makes a difference for me when the grass lays low, and I doubt that the amount of weight removed by "un-filling" your tires would matter much.
