Purchased my 1830 1 year ago. It had low hours and was dealer serviced (Original owner didn't do any of his own maintenance).

Other than a dent in the hood, it's only problems were a few electrical problems.

I had problems with the headlight not working - fixed that by replacing the switch

Then, had to replace the temp guage because it wasn't working either.

In order to get the flashers to work, I need to turn on the flasher switch AND one of the turn-signals (it doesn't matter which one).

Since the under-side of the dash isn't the easiest to get to, I was wondering if any of you had an idea? I'm hoping it's just a wire plugged into the wrong place.

Possibly the wrong bulb in the wrong socket-if you have to leave the turn signal on to make it work. Its a "normally open switch" for either of them. perhaps the females were switched inadvertantly at some time if they are close, and a mirror and work light were not used.

My other thought is a hairline crack in a fuse, or a pinched low voltage wire.;)

bad ground, I bet...

I'm with joe L on this one....bad ground. Wired a couple of old cars now and most of the time I had a problem it was a ground problem.

Yes first post here. I have been lurking for awhile. Figured i would start contributing when I could to return the favor.

Thanks for the replies. If it ever stops snowing, I'll check the ground. If that's not it, I'll check the bulb. I didn't think about the bulb before.

I doubt it's the fust - I've been through them pretty good when I was tracking down the head-light problem.

It's easy to do and worth putting a new one in just to be sure. I've had a fuse show continuity while out of the machine but not while in the holder! I got lucky while testing that day..., but it could have been a -very- long day!
