If nothing else, Mahindra has the same search engines available to them to find this site as we did. I'll put a good bet on it that they have been monitoring this and other sites to assess the competition versus Mahindra's own product problems and also the buyers acceptance to the manufacurers response to problems longer than you or I. In essence - just how much is the buyer willing to suffer before really screaming?
Take some of the following situations into consideration before blindly accepting a prophet that proclaims himself to be a savior from Mahindra. Has any one of you that has submitted an email to Mahindra - ever received a answer back that lead to the resolution of the problem? Have you ever received a mailing from Mahindra in regards to a known problem with your series of machine? Take for example the grounding problem with most of the product line of Mahindra tractors where the ground was secured to a body panel. I would think that before Mahindra was willing to replace "X" number of starters, alternators, solenoids, and switches with a $0.02 cent star washer, they could have saved countless dollars by just sending out a mass mailing with a diagram and star washer enclosed. Pro active..... hardly!!!! Or how about the tractors out there with clutches and the shuttle shift..... Did Mahindra ever tell you that if you are going to run your machine in a stationary position for any amount of hours - to leave the shuttle lever in the forward or backward position and the transmission in neutral? Inside the tranny, there is a shaft that runs inside a shaft and if the shuttle isn't engaged in forward or backward position, the bearings run dry and leads to major teardown and most probably after warranty expires. I personally have posted these problems many times prior along with the fix with very little acknowledgement. I'm not looking for kudo's because we are supposedly here for the benefit of each other
Actually, we hear regularly from dealers on this forum. If they are any good as far as service and good deals, we hear all of the accolades and they deserve it. I'm not certain that it falls within the guidelines of "tractorbynet" but I'm not complaining either. If Mahindra isn't going to take the responsibilty to bring forth their product "shortcomings" - why can't the responding dealers take it upon themselves to post these service updates?
If you don't want to take the responsibility or wrath from Mahindra in my proposal, enter under a false alias and registration. Why has the gas tank/vacumn buildup/faulty fuel cap gone on so long? I reported this problem 2 years ago and we are still hearing about it from new buyers today.
I might write in this forun sometimes in less friendlier of ways than some but at least to talk about problems I have and evoke a thought process. I don't accept anything blindly at my age anymore.
I read about the fortunate man that has bought his tractor within the year and now has 20 hours on it. This is great, I'm happy for the gentleman, but the tractor has hardly stood the test of time - has it? I didn't buy a pleasure vehicle but I did buy a diesel tractor. I expect 4,000 hours out of the engine before MOH(at least). I don't abuse my tractor, I maintain it even better than factory specs, and it **** well do the job every time. I expect from Mahindra - immediate response to unreasonable demands from me and NOW! I don't want to rely on a invisible prophet from Mahindra but a number I can call and get results. If it is my fault, I'm willing to pay but I'm not playing "suckarse" with any dealer, rep, or manufacturer. If you want free advertising - pay your dues with what you are hearing from Mahindra as far as service bulletins, silent recalls, or upgrades that Mahindra is paying for but unannounced.
I for one easily tire of the quick accolades furnished by some here that they might consider as dealer praises. He **** well better and you wouldn't expect anything less from your local Ford/Chevy/Dodge dealer either. When's the last time you sent him a thank-you?
Respectfully and sincerely - Clyde
