Well as in another post I spoke that I broke a hoe cylinder, next is should I go back with a welded cylinder or can I use a tie rod type? I have room for the tie rod style but not sure what if any pros and cons are as for strength or performance.

Not sure on the performance or strength issue. However the tie ord cylinders are rebuildable, many of the welded ones are throw aways.

Tie rod cylinders are usually larger. Because caps and tie rods are outside of the main tube. If you get a welded cylinder that is rated for the pressure you will be running. There should be no problem. Most high pressure cylinders have a screw on end cap on welded cylinders. This allows rebuilding of cylinder piston and rod packing.
