Welding bracket to bucket for attaching chain

/ Welding bracket to bucket for attaching chain #11
My suggestion would be to weld a 1/4 inch thick angle iron across the top of the
bucket, with slots in the top edge to drop a chain in. The advantage over a hook is you can drop the chain in
the slot either direction. Down the back of the bucket is the max lift capacity.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I do it, and I have done 5 or 6 of them. The slotted bar that accepts
the chain is 1/2", and I like to make the slot horizontal with the bkt level. Not only can the chain
be secured upward over the top of the bkt, it can hang downward. A side benefit is that curling
the bucket when the chain is slack allows you to drop the chain without getting off the tractor.

Note that Kubota has both std and HD bkts. I would reinforce at least the thin-walled std bkt.
