welding crimp on teeth on the bucket?

I've got a 757c hoe on my tractor and the @#$% crimp on teeth came off of the bucket and luckly I found them after a short search. There is no crimp on tool around here that I can get a hold of to recrimp these teeth. Now I am thinking to weld the those teeth solid over the original teeth. Will that hold, or is it going to break off and there is a reason for those teeth to be crimped on?

DO NOT WELD IT!
If the shanks on the bucket are in good shape, get some new teeth, slide them on the shank, then heat up the area that gets crimped and use a blunt center punch and hammer to make the "crimps". No Crimping tool required.

That is how I repaired an excavator bucket for my cousin, I also had to replace two of the four shanks, What a PITA that is!

Big stout C Clamp (press clamp) and two nuts where you want the dimple to be.

I did mine for the box blade in the press, but you probably cannot manuever the bucket into the press.

Porta power put between two teeth, nut to form indention on the tooth you want installed, and push it in.

Or, as the other gentleman said, red hot, big hammer, dull punch.

Worked perfect! Heated the teeth up and punched it in with the center punch. Waaay too easy! Thanks for the idea, worked great, no sweat at all.
