The grinder master key strikes again!
RCMP ask for help in $20,000 copper theft | The Chronicle Herald

"stole a large, heavy, steel cylinder containing up to $20,000 worth of copper from East Coast Demolition & Environmental Services in the Mount Uniacke business park.

The culprits apparently used a grinder to cut the padlocks off the gates and removed the 1,815-kilogram on a white flatbed truck"

Back to a point made earlier:

If a criminal REALLY wants to steal something then a way will be found. All you can do is slow him/her down and hope someone notices.

If the equipment is located remotely then "HE GONE..." applies.

Maybe building a nice secure shed for it would be cheaper than 2 log splitters. Not that it is any guarantee either though.

Put up a trail camera too so you can identify a would be thief. Hang it 10' off the ground and they wont even know they got ID'd. They have new cameras now that have no flash or glowing led's..

Used here too. Might be an idea, IIRC they are pretty expensive though. Also wont stop somebody from carrying the splitter away, or somebody with a grinder
