I am sick of potholes and since my JCB backhoe doesn’t have a 3pt attachment I decided to fabricate a an attachment similar to a box scraper out of scrap steel that can be attached to the loader and then pulled backwards to rip the gravel roadway and then redistribute the gravel where needed. I visited ye ole scrap yard and bought a bunch of great steel, thank goodness the scrap yard I go to gets their scrap from fabrication and machine shops...talk about some great steel scraps /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The box scraper is made from 3”x5” angle iron and the scraper teeth are made of T-1 half inch thick steel, which are welded to half inch bar stock...everything has been reinforced to withstand the forces exerted. It took me almost 2 days of non stop cutting and welding to fabricate it but it appears to work as intended, it still has a few minor bugs I need to work out and will get a paint job soon as well.
I put some pictures of it and some action shots at yahoo photos, click pictures to check them out.
