Welding supply truck taken out of service

I've never seen anything like that!:eek: I remember when I was in welding school, we had a bottle delivery. The truck driver didn't secure the bottles on the lift gate. The bottles fell off the lift gate and rolled all over the parking lot. Boy did the truck driver have a funny look on his face!

He was sure in a hurry to get somewhere. Looked to be driving 20+ MPH faster than traffic movement. Well, I guess his delivery days are over and /or very late. You see this type of driving pretty often in 3rd world countries.

Mythbusters showed one will easily penetrate a cinderblock wall just based on pressure, no combustion needed. My cylinders scare me.

When I was in welding school one of the safety people that come in and put on safety demonstrations, told how when he was 18 yeas old he would pick up cylinders from construction sites and bring them back to a shop in a dump truck. How does a lazy 18 year old unload a dump truck, that's right, raises the box and pulls ahead. He kind of wondered why an accident did not happen. I was in school in the early 70's and that safety guy was 10 years or more older than me.

Amazing how many people record thier driving these days.

When I lived in Tulsa the entire Airgas yard blem up about a mile from our shop. Whole area was evacuated. It was absolutely insane. Thousands of bottles exploding. I believe they shut down a mile radius from the plant as it burned down surrounding homes.

The only thing to do with a fire like that is to let it burn. Ed

Many Russian drivers have cameras in their cars. Seems they need proof of accident causes. It is not a bad idea and you may catch some interesting footage like this one. Yeah I think that Russian gas delivery driver will need to find some other occupation. I think he escaped.

I think it was posted in the Towing Something Wrong thread a while back. I know I've seen it before. The year before I started grad school in Santa Barbara they had an big earthquake (not too common there, but they happen). An unsecured gas bottle tipped over, broke off the valve and launched. It went through a couple buildings and embedded itself in a concrete or block wall (I forget which). This was part of the safety orientation. With photos and diagrams with the distance it flew (300'+, IIRC). Point taken...

It could ave been everybody else had slowed down for whatever reason by the time the gas truck came along.
