Got up today to a real mess outside. One foot at least of blowing snow in the driveway. Didn't want to get the Kubota out this early to move snow, but it's that time.

I must be insane, I couldn't wait to get out there and start playing, er I mean plowing.

I couldn't wait this year either. Got a new blower this year and was eager to try it out. Woke up to over a foot of white stuff. I'm glad to report the hardest part of the whole experience was trying to get to the pole barn through 3 foot drifts to fire it up. It worked better than I could have imagined it.

I got caught with my pants down.

My blower is still stuffed in the corner of the barn since i've been using the loader to move firewood. Shoveled all day to make sure my wife could get in and out.

I'll have the blower on the tractor this weekend.

I was almost caught unprepared like Ductape, I installed the snowblower and put the backhoe away the day before yesterday and then we get an 8" storm today. It was nice to throw the snow around again! :D

I just got in from plowing, we did not get much, but that is good. This is the first time I have plowed with a kubota, so it was good to work it out with a small storm first. also in a new house and never had a gravel drive before so all my winter work is different here.

First time for us too...maybe 5 inches total. House was so warm with the wood stove I plowed in shorts and a poly pro top with a hat...felt good to be cold.

We had snow, but our blower is still sitting on the skid. May put it on this weekend. Will see.

We're getting a taste of snow again tonight too.

New skids for the bottom of the loader bucket are pretty close to being ready to use..

Must be a New Hampshire or New England thing. It really doesn't matter weather it is October or December we are not ready for the 1st snow fall of the season. I plowed with the pick-up all day and will go out at midnight and haul snow from the middle of town all night. Well maybe I can play with the Kubota tomorrow!

What is this "snow" you people speak of?:p

It is your summer humidity frozen.

I put the blower on my tractor on Monday, greased all of the fitting, put chain lube on the chain and changed the gear lube oil. It was quite a pleasant day. It started to snow on Tuesday afternoon and I had 15" of snow to blow today (Wednesday), and it kept snowing so I will have at least 15" of snow tomorrow.

It often happens here we go from Fall, to the depths of winter in one fell swoop, like from Monday to Thursday of this week.

I put my blade on tuesday and had to take it off wed to use the bucket for other things. I put blade back on and messed around a little but did not get enough snow to plow the whole driveway. unless it blew around a lot last night I don't think I should have to plow today either:( I guess that is ok anyway I hate the first plow when it digs up the lawn.

Chilly807....... Very neat work on the skids, But I don't understand why they are there. I am guessing to stay just above driveway level, but if so why are they welded on permanantly? Please don't be offended, I ask because I am learning I have only had a tractor for 4 months.

Some folks add skids for less wear on bucket, also as you ask Chily.

Do ask,for we all learn from one another. :)

It looks to me like the bucket skids bolt to the bottom of the bucket. They will keep the cutting edge from digging into the pavement. Pretty neat idea.

I agree, it must be a New Hampshire thing... I have a brand new Kubota snow blower sitting in the barn waiting to be put on. I have been putting it off until...wham! 8" of heavy wet snow. I quess I should get it on this weekend.
