My wife was already complaining that there was too much blue in the garage and now you has something else to fuss about. My dealer called yesterday and said the welder was in and I almost got there before he realized I had dropped the phone, hitched up the trailer and headed off to the store.
I have had several of those little 100/110 wire feed machines and they last awhile and do ok I guess but I got tired of having to work on something every time I go to use it so I decided to upgrade a little. I had a Millermatic 185 one time but someone else decided they needed it more so when I started looking I wanted a little more than that machine would offer so I started looking at the 211. That was a nice machine but reading some of the forums I could see some folks were not too happy with those so I moved up to the 212. Also I don't like the spoolmate 100 that came with the 211 so that was another X against that machine.
I almost called the dealer to have him order the 211 when I got to doing a little more research and started reading about push, pull systems, duty cycle and other options that were available for the 252 that I couldn't get with the 211 machine and I ended up ordering the 252. That package came with a 30A spoolgun plus the M25 gun, gauges and cart for two large tanks and a few other do dads thrown in to make the package ready for almost any kind of welding that I will ever come across.
I already have a big argon tank on my dynasty 300 with 100% orgon so I didn't get but one big tank for this machine with a mix of 75% orgon 25% co2
for regular welding and I can switch back and forth as needed.
I got out of there for $4200.00. I did get a few other items that I needed like a 25' roll of gas/oxy hose, a new Miller elite helmet, a big roll of ss wire, a big roll of mild steel wire, 4 or 5 rolls of different alloy aluminum wire for the spool gun, 10 pairs of assorted gloves, nozzle gel, a new electronic striker, a large bottle of aluminum cleaner and prep, 20 pounds of 7018 rods, some loose parts for both the dynasty and the 252, plus the tank rental and orgon gas mix and a large gas/oxy exchange for my burning torch.
My wife is still yelling too much blue but I just told her but honey, just look ate this pretty new gold helmet I got it goes really good with all this the blue.
