My wife was already complaining that there was too much blue in the garage and now you has something else to fuss about. My dealer called yesterday and said the welder was in and I almost got there before he realized I had dropped the phone, hitched up the trailer and headed off to the store.

I have had several of those little 100/110 wire feed machines and they last awhile and do ok I guess but I got tired of having to work on something every time I go to use it so I decided to upgrade a little. I had a Millermatic 185 one time but someone else decided they needed it more so when I started looking I wanted a little more than that machine would offer so I started looking at the 211. That was a nice machine but reading some of the forums I could see some folks were not too happy with those so I moved up to the 212. Also I don't like the spoolmate 100 that came with the 211 so that was another X against that machine.

I almost called the dealer to have him order the 211 when I got to doing a little more research and started reading about push, pull systems, duty cycle and other options that were available for the 252 that I couldn't get with the 211 machine and I ended up ordering the 252. That package came with a 30A spoolgun plus the M25 gun, gauges and cart for two large tanks and a few other do dads thrown in to make the package ready for almost any kind of welding that I will ever come across.

I already have a big argon tank on my dynasty 300 with 100% orgon so I didn't get but one big tank for this machine with a mix of 75% orgon 25% co2
for regular welding and I can switch back and forth as needed.

I got out of there for $4200.00. I did get a few other items that I needed like a 25' roll of gas/oxy hose, a new Miller elite helmet, a big roll of ss wire, a big roll of mild steel wire, 4 or 5 rolls of different alloy aluminum wire for the spool gun, 10 pairs of assorted gloves, nozzle gel, a new electronic striker, a large bottle of aluminum cleaner and prep, 20 pounds of 7018 rods, some loose parts for both the dynasty and the 252, plus the tank rental and orgon gas mix and a large gas/oxy exchange for my burning torch.

My wife is still yelling too much blue but I just told her but honey, just look ate this pretty new gold helmet I got it goes really good with all this the blue.:D

You must have gotten alot of other stuff   the 252 that im looking at is roughly $2,500. You must have been like a kid in a candy store.

My issues are that id also have to rent the Argon/co2 tank and would like some additions to it, but no wheres near the 4 grand mark. For 4 grand my wife would also insist on a set of included divorce papers

I always have a couple of fresh sets of divorce papers written up and ready to go.....just in case, you know.:D Yeah the basic machine only is
$2500 but I got the package with the 30A spool gun that's a grand right there then the rolling double tank cart and a few other dodads makes the package a tad over $4000.00 but they gave me a break on the package plus they priced the other stuff pretty good too. Now I just have to get it hooked up. This welder has a different plug on it than the dynasty does so I have to make me a pigtail so I can get some juice to it.

Congrats... You'll love that machine :thumbsup:. When I bought my 252 the first thing I built was this...

and still learning how to weld.... My next project is a smoker.

Cool, nice table.......how thick is the medal on the top of that thing? I'm sure I'll like the machine if I ever get it hooked up. I didn't get a chance to go to town today but tomorrow I will hit Lowes and pick up a couple plugs so I can make a pigtail so I can get some power to it. I won't be using it to much for awhile I'm still working on my shop to put it in. Hopefully I'll be done with it before Christmas where I can play with it a little.

You gotta be kiddin.. well, I guess if you have no place to plug it in, it's smarter to wait. I'm not that strong tho, I'd have to try it out..

Me either! I would have already plugged it in but like I said this
has a different plug on it than my other welders do so I will have to get to town and buy another plug and change it over. I hate to cut the cord and put a new end on it especially since it is brand new and under warranty in all so I'm thinking of just making a pigtail so I can try it out and use it a little until the shop is complete.

I have had my dynasty 300dx for 5 or 6 years and I still get a woody sometimes... when I fire that baby up and I can't wait until I can get my hands on this new machine.:D So yeah, I'm hurting but I am going to make a run today to get what I need to fire that mudder up.:licking:

I never cut off the old cords, i simple open up the box and replace the original cord with my 50 foot cord, and keep the original cord if i ever need it to be reinstalled.

Yes they are....When I bought the dynasty I was in the boat business and was looking for a way to keep going in the slow winter months so I decided we would start a side fabrication business. I was going to build boat tops, T-tops, towers and anything else that someone might want for their boat or trucks that pull them. My nitch was going to be that I could make these parts any color they wanted with /my other start up powder coating business. I figured between the three businesses we could stay busy all year and I wouldn't have to lay people off the way I had to do in years past.

I went out and spent a lot of money and effort putting all this together. I built this giant powder coat oven, bought benders, presses, welders, and just about every thing else I would need to get going and just when I was about to pull the trigger and start up I lost the lease on the building I was in because the owner sold the property out of the blue. I finally found another place that had more room and leased that place and when I moved the big oven to the new location I found out that the doors to the shop were 4" too short to get the oven in so I had to store it in another building that didn't have current and it sat there for years. I had to take care of the boat business first before I could spend any more on the other projects so everything got put on hold. After 9/11 things really slowed down but finally started to pick up a little a couple years later but then around 2007 they started to slow again and it got worst every year until I finally had to close the doors altogether.

I moved all my stuff home and made plans to build me a shop there where I could work from home. I started my pole barn build last winter and have been working on it every since. The last hurricane landed a big tree right in the middle of it and right now I am back to where I was the day before the storm. If I ever finish the barn half of it is going to be my welding shop and part is going to be for my powder coat operation and part will just be for general shop for my milling machine, lathe and other tools I'll need to build what ever I need building.......Well that's the plan anyway. Some times I think I have this giant black cloud over me that is always there ready to rain on my parade about the time the main attraction comes strolling by.

I have been called hard headed pretty much all my life but if it wasn't for this trait I probably would have given up long ago and just let the gubment take care of my old sorry azz  but I have a hard time giving up on a plan I have put so much thought into. So I guess I'll keep slugging away and I'll either get it going or die trying, either way I guess I'll be at peace either way.

Oh the red eye??? That was from a run in I had with a nest of really po'ed yellow jackets awhile back. I did a thread about it a month or so ago telling about the incident when I was healing up from the attack. They paid for it but they really let me have it while they could.

Uggghoooo what a pretty picture. Hey is that a MM 350 P and one of those new MM Reach units I have been looking at right out in front?

I have been thinking a lot about that 350P machine and now thinking I should have gone on and got that machine rather than the because of the pulse feature. Other than that there are not that many differences but that is a big one.

Thanks for the picture, I showed it to my wife just to relieve the too much blue in the garage argument we were having and although she still doesn't get it, it did did help a little by her knowing I'm not the only one out there with this blue fetish I have with stuff in my garage.:D

As I was reading your story, about 2/3 rds the way through I thought there's where the black eye came from:laughing:. Man oh man, you sure have had a run of bad luck!
My hats off to you for getting back up onto your feet when life knocks you down.;)

I did that with my Dynasty. I had 4 welders when I got that one and they all had different plugs on them so I changed all of them to the same type when I moved back home and ran a new line from my panel box to where they sit. Hopefully they wont be in my garage too much longer and they will be in my new pole barn shop where I will again make them all the same. I will probably hard wire them with enough wire to reach everywhere in the shop because I don't have any plans to move any time soon.

I got the stuff yesterday to hook it up temp and this weekend hopefully I can play with it a little.

Well one thing good about being beat down to the bottom....when you get down to it there is only one way to go and that's up. Besides, like the song says a country boy will survive, you just have to keep slugging away.

Yep it's a 350 P. Great unit and does fantastic welds. The 252 is no slouch either. I use my 252 80% of the time. I've never had an issue with any Miller product. I had a MM 251 before this stuff and was another nice unit.

Great to see you getting back on your feet. Tell your wife I said you did really well buying that blue stuff. You can make a good living with that. The smaller Miller in the photo is a 875 Miller plasma and over on the far side of the photo is my Dynasty DX200. Oh and then there's the Trailblazer.

The last photo came to mind when I read your post ;)

Really nice pics, that's a classy operation you have going on there. My wife's argument has been completely watered down now and a couple of the pics went a long way with her tool box argument too.

Every time I see that last pic it cracks me up....sort of like the flee one where the flee is floating down thew river on his back yelling out..OPEN THE DRAW BRIDGE!! But really, I don't know which of the two I feel more sorry for the frog or the bird. On one hand the frog is pretty low on the food chain but he still wants to live and do his own thing. The bird on the other hand reminds me sometimes when you think you have a plan and it looks solid, like all you have to do is sit back and enjoy what you have done and then out of the BLUE some thing clamps a death grip on plan and makes it impossible to swallow.

Thanks for the laugh and the pics it's good to see others that are finally seeing their dreams come true....although I do think you need a few more tool boxes.

Wow you really put a lot of thought into that cartoon and I agree. I laughed as well about the flee. I never heard that one before. I could just picture it happening lol. Ya there's a few tool boxes around. The big one is the main box while the smaller one is to hold the machining tools. I really need another one  Good luck in the future. If anyone deserves to make it work it's you.
