Pressure switch, its working, just in slow motion, as others have said, it is partially plugged somewhere in the line or the diaphragm itself.

Thanks guys for all the replies. I just removed the black tube and blew it clean and viola no more pump delay. It's all back to normal. In total a five minute fix.

Glad to hear things are all fixed up.
I was surprised to hear that the switch was so expensive now. I though I paid about $12 ten years ago and I didn't shop around.

If you ever get freezing weather.. they will do that too, as that capilary tube will freeze before any of the large lines will..

If I could just figure out a way to get the sand out of the bottom of my tank now I'd have it made. It's way too heavy to get out of there and there is no drain on the bottom to flush it.

If there's a hole in the tank large enough for a garden hose use a shop vac to pull sand thru it. I've vacuumed sand & mud from conduits thru a garden hose where the vac wouldn't pull it from the pipe directly.
Make a sand trap to install between your pump & tank or on the pump suction is even better. 3" or 4" schedule 40 pvc t mounted vertical. 12" of capped pipe below with 1 1/2 " drain plug, line from well into side of T & line to pump out the top raised up 4" or so. This allows the sand to settle out before the pump or tank depending on where it's plumbed. If in suction you may have to prime after draining. This trap will also extend the life of downstream filters. MikeD74T
