I want to order a few spare parts for my well controls: motor control, pressure switch etc to have on hand. Can anyone recommend a reputable on-line source?
It would help for us to know your name brand of what you have now. Most cases Pressure Switches are pretty standard and can be had from most any home depot/lowes/menards or TSC. Normal prices like 20 something bucks. there generally are no other "Controls" on the typical system that are worth keeping on-hand. There are "Pump Saver" systems that will shut the pump off if you break a line so the pump does not run all night flooding your house and burning up the pump when it pumps all the well water into your basement. those are good to have, my 10 year old pump went bad because the 10 yr old Amish boy helping the concrete crew out left my hose on 100% in late Aug after a dry summer it sucked the well dry and over headed melted the pump impellers down hole.
Thanks for the reply Spiker,
One of my 2 (1 for the submersible and 1 for the booster pump) Franklin Electric 1 HP 220VAC submersible motor controllers just gave out after 20 years. I swapped in the one that was leftover from a new pump install last year to get us running again but it is also the same age and I want a new one on hand for when this one gives out. I figured the Square D pressure switch could use a spare as well as my pressure gauge which is sticking. I could see HD or Lowes for the pressure switch but not so much for the controller, plus I just want to order it and have it show up without having to chase around (getting more lazy these days!) I found R.C. Worst on-line in the Spokane WA area and will probaly give them a try.
some time ago I found a repair kit for my pressure switch...replaces the contacts...only thing I have had go bad...stocked up with several, easy fix, avoids having to undo the unit, less than half price new unit.
Update:
I ordered all of the parts on line from R.C. Worst on Saturday. Their prices were very good and all parts were at my door Tuesday afternoon. I'd definitely give them two thumbs up.
