The L3400 sold quicker than I expected which left me tractorless:confused:. work at the propery all but came to a halt..
I was torn between the L39 with its impressive FEL and BH abilities but humble PTO HP/rating and the L4240 with LA854 and woods 9' hoe with Hyd. thumb. Well Brady made me a heck of a deal on a L5240 w/LA854 Woods 9' hoe and Hyd. thumb. Hope it is here first part of next week so I can get back to work on the property..

So much for the HP to acreage ratio I think I have most everyone beat for now LOL.. Pics soon I hope, I feel like a kid on Chrismas eve:D ..

Chuck, 26 hp/per/acre!!! You 'Tha Man!!!

I also have a L 5240 HSTC, you going to LOVE IT!!
Even with the B/H attached that LA854 loader will still raise your rear up in a heartbeat! Be carefull!

Congrats!

When you get it... you might consider asking them to check the popoff pressure for the LA 854 loader.... mine was under spec..it actually would NOT pick up somethign I really needed to move.. and I asked them to raise to spec... turns out that the dealer doesn't stock the true shims that are called for...just uses washers... and the washer the mechanic selected took me just beyond the top end of the range of the spec... we left it that way... I now move 2800lb concrete culverts.. slowly and with LOTS of rear weight:D

Thanks all,

Double Orange yes a bit overkill for 2 acres but we hope to get more property in near future and dont want to buy another tractor ;)

Lifting the rear will be a pleasant surprise as the FEL on the 3400 was a bit disappointing, I should have done my homework a little better but for the money it was a tough little machine. I hope the pressure relief valve is set right judging by what was said if it wont lift the rear it may need looking at...

Just got off the phone with Brady, should be here next Wens. or Thurs. He is one great guy to do business with..

I am assuming you're referring to Brady from Barlow Equipment? I've been e-mailing back and forth with him on a L3240 and am eager to hear how youur transaction goes, his price is excellent. Have fun on the new beast.

Yep, you are right... Even with a delivery charge from Ky. to SE Tx. he was considerably cheaper than my local dealer..

I am not knocking my local dealer by any means, good guy but he could not touch Brady's price.

This wouldn't be the one and only Brady in Kentucky would it. If it is you are so right about being one great guy to do business with. I believe we bought his first B26 he sold back in the beginning of June. We can't say enough about the guy and the family run business. Well if it isn't the same Brady I just put a great plug in for the one I know. (BarlowFarmEquipment.com):)

Man I should've checked out Barlow equipment when I bought my tractor. It's like 100 miles down the road from me! Oh well.
I always felt a little. . .um, ashamed,. . .embarrased. . . .I don't know. . .strange about the size of my tractor compared to my land. Well, you completely put me to shame! Congratulations on the new tractor! I certainly hope photos will follow!

I guess I'm gonna have to go out and get me a 416 hp tractor to keep up now!;)
