Not sure if anyone else here on TBN watches it, but I absolutely loved the show Top Gear -- best show on TV in my opinion, and my oldest boy and I looked forward to Tivo'ing it ever week, plus re-watching the reruns on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I understand why it's the #1 rated non-fiction television show IN THE WORLD.

But, now the "political correctness police" have gone and ruined my last bastion of TV enjoyment.

I agree that the guy was a bit outside of the "political correctness zone" but this seems a bit drastic to me. You can be a drug addict, a wife beater, a serial adulterer or an accused child-predator and stay on your show... I guess you just can't be politically incorrect.

I watch the show too, but you've got the facts twisted a bit. Jeremy Clarkson physically assaulted a coworker in an unprovoked rage, he deserved to be fired.

In the event the show is off-the-air next season, I will better spend the time restoring a 1967 MGB with my wife. It was her father's car.

Love the UK version of Top Gear, have forever. The "three amigo" format has worked well with boastful Clarkson, eccentric May and cute Hamster but they've been muckety mucking about Clarkson leaving for a while now.

Seems he must have punched or slapped a show worker in some way which left them no choice but to fire him. Too bad it had to end this way, it was a great show.

Interesting article about it

I liked the show. Some crazy adventures.
He didn't know **** about cars. Just speed. I thought Clarkson was an idiot, with the mentality of a 13 year old, but like that crazy, rude, pompous, obnoxious, friend that everyone has that's sort of fun to hang around with because it's kind of funny to watch. But it always ends the same way : having to show them the door when you get sick of their **** and they go too far.

I started watching back episodes on Netflix about 7 months ago.

I was a very surprised when it made me realize that Great Britain has rednecks. And this is their show! They're just so different, in appearance, language, phrases than the U.S. kind, but dang, they're rednecks!

I really like the show and the 3 guys are comical together. Some of the PC stuff like the license plate issue I don't care about but you can't go hitting people you work with. I think his head has gotten a bit too big. Sad to see it happen but he brought it on himself. This is probably the end of that show. And on that bomb shell, bye bye Jeremy, it was good while it lasted which was quite a long time.

Punching a co-worker in the mouth has nothing to do with political correctness.

Yeah, that would likely get his azz fired at any respectable place of employment.

Clarkson is a very entertaining TV host but you can tell he's a d**k.

I agree with most of the comments. It's one of those shows that I watch from time to time, but usually I get bored over the skits they do where they go out of their way to do something really bad, then pretend they are surprised at how bad it turns out. I like the tests they do of the different cars and I enjoy their evaluations of them. I just don't find them funny and it's painful waiting for those bad comedy bits to end.

As for punching the coworker, he deserved to be fired and should be charged for assault, then spend some time in jail.

No doubt about it -- the guy was a jerk for hitting someone. But I wonder how much it was blown out of proportion given all of the PC-oriented stuff that he has been facing over the last couple of years. It was clear they had a big target painted on him since 2011 for his non-PC standpoint. Several of the UK-based sites are suggesting that this was a set-up.

But considering that other actors like Charlie Sheen and Sean Penn also were accused of hitting folks on set, but the networks/studios stood by them, I have to wonder if this outcome would have been different (eg, the BBC standing behind him, or just docking him a huge amount of $$$) if the "PC Baggage" wasn't part of it.

Either way, I'm sad to see the show potentially go off the air.

There's a rumor that he might go to do a similar show on Netflix (who is trying to increase their international audience.) If so, I wonder if the Hamster, May and the Stig will follow him...
