Mahindra 1533 HST w/ FEL
Very nice young man talked to me for about 45 minutes. Started it up and ran it awhile. Didn't drive it. But sat on it for some time. He gave me a price of $30,243.82 after taxes. Now a breakdown.

Tractor- $19,419
FEL- $4,080
Mid Mount Mower 72''- $3,360
5' Box Blade- $635
Post Hole Digger- $763
9'' Auger- $169
Total with taxes and shipping and some others is the above. $30,243.82

Now a few questions.
I told him that a 72'' cut was a little big for what I wanted. Would rather have a 60'' cut. Told me it doesn't come with that. He did tell me that Mahindra offers a 60'' finishing cut pull-behind. I looked at it and it seems nice but... Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Tractor Supple sells an Post Hole digger by CoutryLine for roughly $480 and Auger for $140. I can also get a Country Line Box Blade for $600. Would it be worth my time to save a little money by going to TSC or should I just get the whole thing as a package?

He did say that there is a cash discount of $3750. That would drop the price down to $26,493.82
I think I could talk him down to an even $25,000 out the door.

Thanks for the help.

The Countryline PHD at TSC has less warranty (3 year gearbox) versus the Mahindra PHD (5 year gearbox). Cutting teeth and augers are interchangeable between the two, so parts are generally easiest to come by at TSC; whichever you get.

As far as the BoxBlade, check the specs to see which weighs more and go with the heaviest... BBs need weight to work and too many cheaper BBs don't weigh enough to work effectively.

I think you'll find that the cash discount is relative to the number of implements you buy and would decrease significantly if you went elsewhere for a couple items... If you can do $25k on the package I'd be impressed.

Looks to me that the line item pricing is covering the bush hog costs is it really included. As warranties go 3 vs 5 if your going to have serious issues it's more likely before the 3 rd year. My dealer tried hard to sell me his attachments based on warranty which if I couldn't fix my stuff I might have bit. Only time will tell if I made the right choice.

I'd be very surprised. The dealers don't like to haggle at all.

If I went with the Rear Finish Mower that would drop the price another $1200. Closer to the $25000 mark I'm looking for.

Just go tell him that you and the wife have been saving your $1.00 bills for a very long time like most people save there pocket change. Also it's in a big suit case and there is 25004 of them the last time you counted, can we make the deal that is all I got.

Of course I'm kidding, but it might work. At 25K for all of that stuff seems like a good deal.

One question: What's the address? In real estate it's all about location, location, and location. Oh wait a minute- that's for a tractor, sorry. I guess it all depends on how much money you'll make with the machine over the next 7-8 years and how much of the cost is depreciable on your farming income tax.

Thanks for the help.

For reference, we bought a 1533 shuttle with FEL, 5ft rough cutter and 5ft box blade and an 18 ft trailer with brakes for right around $24k out the door with taxes, etc and I think we have a rebate of around $500 coming back on the implements. Didn't have to haggle really. I think with 0% financing they tack on $1000.

Can't really comment on the other items. Best of luck though, I really am loving the tractor. Just about 50 hours on it right now.

I prefer finish mowers over mids but only if your doing more open mowing and plan on using the tractor for plenty of other projects... if your main focus is gona be mowing the mid mower is hard to beat.. both cut well one just hangs off the back...

I had a dealer tell me he's taken back a number of mid-mounts and selling them 3 pt. mounted finish mowers instead. That's what he's recommending now as they are easier to handle and take on and off. He also said you don't really get the ground clearance on the MMM that you might need. I went with a 3pt. 60" Maschio I got brand new at a consignment auction for $600 to work behind my eMax 22. Works great for me.
