....piglet to his momma after another penicillin shot. He's the one that had to get the stitches. I just discovered by accident that if you invert a feed scoop over a baby piglets head it's messes with them so bad that they don't make a sound!
Ain't that special? It was reflex. When I went to get him I brought mom, who is much calmer now by the way, a scoop of feed and when her back was turned I snatched the little boy up and he started raising holy you know what. The only thing I could think to do was stick his head in the scoop. It was just like somebody hit the mute button. Mom raised her head at the first squeal but as soon as he shut up she went back to her feed and I walked out with him neat as a pin.
However when I brought him back I found her and all the babies missing. She must have done a head count and got nervous so she moved them way over on the other side of the pasture and one of the other babies managed to get itself on the other side of the fence. No big deal really, but he got stuck trying to come back through and he was screaming HIS head off. I couldn't get near him. She sniffed around him for a few minutes trying to figure out what the problem was and couldn't, so her solution was to lay on his head and shut him up the fast and easy way. We're havin' fun now! He finally backed up and came in another way. I'm staying in the house til suppertime, I've had enough. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
