So I went to the local JD dealer today to see if they by chance had a 4105 I could look at. Well the sales guy says he has never seen one and that they are not that popular. While I was there I picked up an implements book and noticed that the imatch autohitch system fits 3000 and 4000 series tractors EXCEPT the 4005 and 4105.

Whats the deal with the 4005 and 4105 tractors? Are they thr red headed stepchild of JD?

4105 Appears to be a current model. Hydro or manual, 40.5 hp, compact 4x4, Whats not to like ? Maybe the frame size changed that hampers certain implements... don't see how though. Get a second opinion.

I see alot of those tractors on the lot in this area. More than the 20 seires right now. I can say that I have never seen an Imatch auto hitch in person. I like the Imatch, and I like the idea of the auto hitch, but the auto hitch part adds soo much money to an already expensive Imatch. Plus, once you cut your PTO shafts for the auto hitch, they are not usable without it.

I don't really know much about the imatch autohitch system. The rear width of the 4005/4105 is 63" at the outside of the tires where the 4120 is 91".

This system also fits the 3038E which is 68".
