West coast JD 318 repairs

Looking for a recommendation of where on the west coast (Washington state) do you go besides the dealer or the yellow pages to get a John Deere 318 repaired?

Wht kind of repairs are you interested in? If engine work, many small engine shops are capable of working on the Onan engine found in the 318.

I hope you know the engine is the 318 has been out of production for maybe 5 yrs now. There are several Co making converstions kits to replace the old flat twin with a more modern V-twin.

Thanks but it is not the engine, I only have 578 hours on it. I cracked the frame where it bolts to the rear axle on the right side. I have the piece but need it welded back on. So I was thinking take it apart, weld it, put it back together.

I would be looking for a welding shop that can use some wrenches, not a tractor shop that can't weld!!!

Too many folks that THINK they can weld!

Ditto to what Ken said! Any semi-pro race shops in your area or 4 wheel drive shops? Those guys are usually VERY good welders because of the stresses the machines they build suffer through. Might get'er done that way.
