Has anyone used one of the wet abrasive sandblasters you attach to a pressure washer? I have several sandblasting jobs to do and saw one in Northern Tool WSI International Sandblasting Kit 3500 PSI, Model# FC 41069 | Portable Abrasive Blasters| Northern Tool + Equipment There are a number of videos and information online about them and some of the videos ( not Northerns) are pretty impressive. Appreciate any input/experience members have about these units and if one brand is better than another. Also, my current PW is about 2700 psi....is that enough to really work well?

I had no idea. None.
Now I need to stop procrastinating and get a decent pressure washer so I can wet blast paint and rust off of my welding projects.
Thanks for posting this!

I've also thought about one, as I have a good compressor and good pressure washer and several small hand held blasters & cabinet blaster.

I need to do my Box Blade (10 yrs old now 11 this season) and showing it's age as well as the other 3pt implements.

I have one. A few issues with it. Get good sand, and don't get water in the sand, or going down the wrong pipe. It immediatley gums the works and you spend lots of time tearing it apart and cleaning. Also it doesn't do a large area in the end. Pretty confined, maybe a 3" wide swath max.

I used to rent a shop in a storage complex and they had someone water/sand blast all the buildings and garage doors. These doors were the continuous hinge between panels type.
THEY ENDED UP WITH SAND IN THE HINGES! IN THE ROLLERS!! AND ALL OVER THE TRACK where it was lubbed!!!
Those doors are probably still squeaking and that was 25 years ago.
So be careful where you use one.
I can't remember how good of a job they did. :(

I've got one and it works. Plan on replacing the pick-up tubing, as it's permanently kinked out of the box. Every kink stops the flow. Or else have a helper to hold it, which you will need anyway to carry the media and follow you around the object if it's very big. It's slow, uses a lot of blast media (I used Black Diamond 20-40 coal slag from TSC), and depending on the size and shape of your object, you will get extremely wet. For all those reasons I haven't used mine much. I will say it takes mill scale off hot-rolled and leaves a real nice finish. I can't speak to anything else, as that's all I've done with it. I think my PW is a 3000 psi - not very big.

Is it possible to reclaim the blast media such as sand?

I have had one for a few years now,and it works quite well. I have just finished my boat trailer and had it re-galvanised.Everything stub says is right, you will get VERY wet and the most important thing I have found is to use dry blast media.I also had to replace the pick-up hose. I think it is definately an outdoor job and one for the warmer weather:laughing:
