wet brakes and hyd fluid

ok; i'm not going to put out the $$$ to put synthetic hydraulic fluid in my JD tractors; i don't even like the price JD gets for their fluid; but what specs do i look for in other brands, so i know they meet the requirements for the JD wet brake system? once i price the right specs from other brands, i may go ahead and continue with the JD brand..
