Thanks Renze. I just discovered such cutters today in doing some reading and am also now investigating that as an option. I always like to own things when I think it's something I'm going to use more than just for a day or two!

Thanks everyone else too!!

If I had the money I would buy the Dewalt 14" wet saw.
Did you check out the one at Harbor Freight tools Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices for $199. Chicago power tools is the make. item #42043-3cmh and the plate compactor for $699 item# 91762-0cmh.
I don't know how the Chicago power tools company is--so I been holding off.

I just fin my walkway 400sq ft -I should have bought a wet saw.
I have a couple more paver jobs in the future.

after your fin you can always sell it--they are hard to find used anyway.

let us know what you find.

You just cost Me Money. Ordered a bon tool brick cutter 171/2" model #11-591
from northern tool $$359.99 $21.82 shipping. Now I have a $1000 MK WETSAW but that's busy on another job. We just started a project that includes pavers. I am a welder and will be building a 20 ton hydraulic block and stone splitter.
Will be similar to x-18 www.capicityequeptment.com/mstonepix.html

The wet saw will have a multi purose it can cut ceramic tiles all sizes with clean cuts.

I had a concrete slab at the begining of my walkway and decided to give it a
dress up with blue stone for the cuts I needed the only way was the wet saw..

I've never used, or seen used, those sheers. The part of just snaping them off sounds good, but I have some serious doubts about smaller pieces. Lots of times you'll need to cut a sliver, or an odd triangle shape that's pretty long and thin. Other times, you'll need to cut a round or concave type shape into your pavers. The more creative and cusom you go, the more weird shapes you will have to cut. I can do all that with my 14 inch metal cutoff saw and 71/4 hand saw. I don't know how you'd do this with a sheer????

The small pave cutter will be used along with the wet saw, Gotta keep everyone cutting. The large shear I'm about to fab is for versa-loc walls.
WE do retaining walls ,just did 3 Last couple months. We also installed 1400 sq. ft. of hand cut bluestone over conc. tight joint 1/2" space. Here's a great trick on cutting flag. use 4 1/2" grinders with 7 " diamond blades. these are about same price but cut faster and last 3 times as long! always spray water from a hose when You cut [score] , than snap with brick hammer.

I put pavers along a curved aggrigate sidewalk. Picked up a wet skill saw at Home Depot that work nice on curves. Small blade about 5-6". Just be ready to get wet!
