Yes, it would be nice if we could send some of that rain out west. I live in southern Ohio, and the crayfish dig holes and live underground. This creates mounds of dirt that are a PITA when mowing.

During the early warm spells of spring, I get crayfish walking around in the aisle of my barn. It must be part of their reproductive cycle, because the smaller females always have a cluster of eggs under the tail.

I haven't seen a hint of any purpose in their roaming around, but they somehow do OK. We have tons of them!

I don't really care where it would come from - we could use rain here in Ea WA state. I've got small, loud-mouth green frogs in my basement. It's really cool down there and they MUST enjoy that. About 1/3 the size in your pic doughknob.

We've been getting some good soaking since end of June, last year at this time well were starting to go dry for many...fingers cross for above normal wet until ground freezes.

It looks like we might finally get some drying weather next week.

it looks like we are again 6 plus inches over our "average" rainfall for this time of year. average is a misleading term, in most cases. like living in a swamp.

i wonder, after at last 3 years of this rain, when they start saying normal?

as far as weather forecasts go....i figured this out 10 years ago in oregon. i might be wrong but....i don't think so.

i charted this so i have data, not big data, just data.

during the 9 months of rainy season, in oregon, on sunday, they would forecast the upcoming weekend to be nice, no rain. this happened virtually every sunday nite. by tuesday they were hedging and by friday they would forecast reality, rain....surprise!

i believe the weather forecasts have a lot to do with ratings and ratings have a lot to do with $. i believe they lean toward the positive until it's obvious they were incorrect.

i believe that, subconsciously, people will watch the forecast that gives then the best news. i believe the tv statins count on that.
