What a week for Deere Freebies!

I had National Guard Drill this weekend and when I got home Sunday night I found that my free chair arrived while I was gone. Then tonight I came in from working on the planter I built and for some reason I looked on the front porch and found this little box. I was my "Thank you for purchasing a John Deere" hat. I proudly went to the bedroom, turned on the light woke my wife up and asked her how she like my new $17,000 hat. She was mildly amused. That makes JD hat #5. And they are all different.

I've never gotten anything. Had to buy my own hat.

Now, Brent, you are a reasonable guy. In the past you have posted pictures of your equipment, sometimes with models in the pictures. Is it safe to assume your daughters got their looks from their mother? Did it ever occur to you to post a WARNING before folks open that picture?!!

I have one of the John Deere wide brim straw hats that my brother gave me when I had my JD 318 mower. Then when I test drove a Spin Steer, JD had a promotion that gave you a free cap. Then when I bought a Spin Steer I got a free cap from Deere. Then when I bought my 4310 my dealer gave me a $10 coupon to their John Deere merchandise store. Yes they have a separate store at a different location with just toys, caps, shirts, etc. With the $10 I bought what I call my John Deere Sunday cap. It is khaki colored. This morning I had them all layed out showing my wife. She still wasn't really impressed.

I got mine last weekend as well, so did my buddy who bought a 790. They must have gotten their hat shipments in and sent them right out. It's a great hat - much nicer than the one I got at delivery. So is it a $25,000 hat for me?... if so then you obviously got the better deal! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The Sunday Deere Cap.. very cool idea. I can't imagine why your wife wasn't impressed... mine sure was - She thought I was acting like a 9 year old who just got his new toy in the mail when I saw the hat... yes indeed, she was very impressed.

After buying a backhoe, you should have gotten a shirt also. What if you buy a $200K cotton picker and only get one cap. Ouch!
