I have what I assume is a leaking seal.
Is this pretty straight for ward or is it not DIY??

What seals item 4 to item 10? My Branson has a gasket in that area.

To some degree the original Q is a loaded question. I have seen skill levels of DIYers range from genius to near incompetence.
On a scale of 1-5 where do fall?

Above average and not afraid except for racking up extra expense because it's a new job for me. I have done automotive but very little tractor work.

IIRC, we used black RTV adhesive at the NH dealer that I worked for. Should be able to tell when it's disassembled.
