What animal or bug makes a clicking

What animal or bug makes a clicking when you get close to it? Went in storage barn which has a lot of lumber and tools in it and something would make a clicking noise when I went to one area. Never heard that noise before and I know it was nothing I had stored in it.

Rattlesnake? In my experience, most other bugs/animals get quiet when approached.

I would seriously be pretty careful. A big 'ol rattle snake can make a noise that some might say is a "clicking noise".

Otherwise - around here - June bugs will make a clicking noise if you pick them up and hold them in your hand.

If this clicking noise is only when you move to a certain area. Take heed - it is likely that something is trying to warn you.
