I just bought my Gator XUV --gasser. I shopped around for three weeks hitting up 6 different dealerships, and actually negotiating price with three. Quotes for the base unit ranged from $8900 to $9350. Once I started adding options, the field got even farther apart as some would give 10% discounts, and others wanted to charge list. When it was all said and done I paid 9450 for the gator, bedliner, floor mats, back screen for the ROPS, brush guard, & front hitch...I should mention that I bought it tax exempt for the farm. Just curious if anyone has had better luck beating the dealers down?!

sounds like a good deal. they want way to much for the xuv's around hear and it seems like people are starting to report problems with brakes and stuff so i might hold off a while it will give me time to shop around and give others time to find more kinks in the xuv's before i buy .skip said he paid 8700.00 for his now that would be lower than the price of a hpx if so the drive to his dealer would be worth the trip if the xuv holds up. i went to one dealer and they come up with a price of 10,900 for a stripped down model. i laughed and walked out. thats the same dealer that wanted me to leave my hpx with them for a whole day so they could check it out before they could give me an estimate for a trade in.

I paid $8700 for mine plus $900 for the homeowner package. Lift, bedliner, brush guards and floor mats. Added the front hitch and skid plate $110. I had to pay tax also 1.5%. I did not negotiate the price. A friend got the same deal on a trail gator that list for $100 more, so I asked for a free oil filter and they did not fuss when I used a credit card to pay the differance from my trade in. JC

My sales rep added up the list price of the Gator and the list price of all the extras and then took 10% off everything. This is the rep at my new dealer where I had never bought anything. I recently switched dealers because of lack of service from the original one where I spent over $20K in 2006. I felt OK with 10% off list on a brand new item where the demand is very high. The list price on the dump bed is now $750. It used to be over $1000. So I paid $675 for the dump bed. At that pricing, JD will be selling a lot of dump beds.

You will get faster delivery if the dealer orders one as pre-sold if he does not have one on the floor ready right now.

I am very happy with mine so far after three weeks.

All you XUV owners please note the owners manual calls for the initial oil change at 8 HOURS. Get an oil filter when you pick up your Gator. Eight hours went by fast!!!!

I'm impressed with the $8700. Sounds like you got a good deal on the homeowners pkg too. I want to add a lift, and some type of light kit. I will be using it on the roads a little, but this is a pretty rural area, so I'm going to wait and see just how much I'll be driving before purchasing the delux, or just tail/brake kit.

I went to our local dealer four times trying to get him to match my best quote. He told me he didn't think he could get there, but he would be in touch. When i went and picked mine up from his competition, the Sales Rep told me that my local dealer had called him and gave him an ear full for not sticking to MSRP on these. I should mention that my local dealer still has 3 new 06 HPX's on his lot...tells you how proud he is of the gator line-up!

Have you used the dump yet? It looks like they have eliminated one of the cylinders...is it still as strong? That was my only concern, well that and the extra $750!

The biggest flaw I see with these gators is the manual dump...it is just a little awkward. The way you PUSH vs. Pull ???, and then still have to pick up with that handle. Mine is incredibly tight right now, I'm sure it will loosen up w/time.

The dealer JC and I trade at, will show you what she paid for the unit. Then you go up from there.

Our dealer is a small family owned business. People from as far away as Wisconsin come here to trade.

Very honest and good people~! :D

Don't be fooled by the single ram dump system. I had the bed rounded over with firewood and one on my son-in-law's buddies who is about 6'10" and 350# laid across the pile as a joke. I hit the dump switch and before he could yell "oh %&#@" the bed was at a 30 degree angle and he was tumbling off. The speed of the dump is fast it will certainly dump anything you put in it. It is well worth the $675-$700 you will pay for it.

So what do they pay for the XUV's? I've got to believe it to be around 83-8400. I can't imagine these guys turning them for less than $300 a pop.

I wish my local dealers were so open about their price.

I did have one dealer quote me $8800 base, but then he turned into a car salesman and started adding a $200 unloading fee, and a $150 finance fee, etc... To his credit he did tell me he would trade every year so long as I didn't put over 200 hrs on it for $500. Apparently a lot of the local farmers refuse to buy a new unit, but have no problem spending just as much on a used unit.

Did you put a bedliner in yours to help stuff slide out? I was going to have a local guy spray on the bedliner and the floor, but I wondered about how easily stuff would flow. I opted for the bedliner, and am going to take the advice on here and buy a stall mat @ TSC, and cut it down to size to serve as a bed mat.

One good point my local dealer had was to spray down the bed and the floor with WD-40, or the like, before placing the floor mats and bed liner, this should help with rust issues down the road.
