What are most sold implements for compact tractors

Good question! Of course I'll be following along with interest. Somewhere I have the specs for the number of cutters, box blades, finish mowers, etc sold for the past 5 years, if I can dig it out. I do recall Howse selling over 48,000 light duty rotary cutters in one of those years, so that would lead me to believe the cutter would have to be close to the to of the list. Even though most folks here so far are using a FEL, don't forget, the light "disposable" cutters are replaced every few years whereas the FEL is less "disposable". Oh, I just remembered, I also have the unit sales for TSC a few years back too. When I get home, I'll see what I can dig out.

For me a bush hog and box blade were essential. Our tractor "Ol' Smoky" came with a 6' FEL and a 5' bush hog. The FEL was just icing on the cake when we bought our tractor, but I don't think I could live with out it now. Being new to tractors, acreage, and home ownership we have started with the basics. Luckily our neighbor has a whole lot more experience and implements than I do and has let me borrow his box blade. We plan to add a box blade of our own and a tiller (and a new baby boy, but he won't be on the tractor for quite a while) in '03.

Mark, I also think that the FEL followed by a finish mower is probably the most common thing I see around here. For my wife and I, the FEL is probably what we use 75% of the total time on the tractor! (But having the other things is nice, too...)

I have 60 hrs on my Bx22TLB and of that 45 must be the backhoe. My neighbor's that have tractor's don't have a backhoe attachment and are now calling me for small jobs that they can't do or don't want to do with a shovel.

I can give you my situation, but I suggest that everyone's is different.

I bought my tractor with loader and backhoe.
Add the utility trailer that I already had, and that's all I figured I needed. Backhoe was going to be on all summer, take it off for fall firewood collection and spring maple sap collection. I have a good lawn tractor that I use for mowing.

Then I decided I needed to mow my trail network, so I bought a bush-hog. I use it 2 or 3 times each summer, and the backhoe goes right back on.

Winter arrived so I bought a snowblower. I mount it right after firewood (Nov), use it regularly through to March, when it comes off for maple syrup.

I'm happy with what I have.

My neighbour just uses his tractor for mowing so owns a MMM only. Doesn't burn wood, doesn't do maple syrup, doesn't own any other land. Has a short paved drive and a stand-alone snowblower. Doesn't do projects that warrant a loader. He's happy as can be.

A second neighbour mows for a living, so sold his CUT for a Front mount commercial mower with slowblower as well. He's happier now without the tractor!

These CUT's are so versatile that the implement selection will vary greatly. What a great question!

The rest are all good for what they do but are minor supporting cast not stars.

In no particular order:
3PH cement mixer
sickle bar mower
middle buster
subsoiler
pasture sprayer with both broadcast sprayer and folding spray arms
carry all
60 inch rotary tiller
pallet forks with quick connect (swaps with FEL in 30-90 seconds)
round bale spike with quick connect to swap with FEL bucket

Still some stuff I want like a set of haying equipment including round baler.
low density foam fill to elliminate flat tires.
set of disks, harrow, and so on and so forth

So many toys, so little time...
