Are they a sort of dull pinky orange?
If so they look like potato beetles.
They eat the whole range of nightshade, potatoes, tomatoes, egg plant...
Look on the underside of the leaves. If you see small orange clusters, those are their eggs.
If you catch it early you can crush the egg clusters. They will turn your fingers orange so I wear rubber gloves.
You can pick the adults off into a can and crush them.
They will play possum and drop off to the ground so I hold the catch can under them.
With your infestation you probably need a chemical solution, NOW.
I don't know what products you have available so you will have to ask around.
They will strip your plants bare except for the woody stems so you should do something as soon as possible.
I used to walk the garden rows 3-4 times a day picking them off to keep them manageable and not need a chemical solution.
