I also use the stainless steel helical "rope links". They are fast to put on and off, great for adding a wire and seem to hold as well as "gripples" or the branded screw together connectors.

We put up high tensile electric wire in two five acre pastures 24 years ago. The wire is still in good condition but the posts are starting to show their age.
A Pileated woodpecker tore up some of the posts and I am going to start replacing them. I doubt if you can find anything more cost effective than high tensile.
We are on our 2nd electric fence charger.
